Juan Pablo Dobal (pianist and composer, born in 1964 in Buenos Aires) takes the stage this season three times. Tonight he performs with his trio, alongside Gustavo Cabrera (violin) and Santiago Arias (bandoneon) - all three hailing from Buenos Aires.

The trio plays tango: the music, dance and poetry of the Río Plata, the cultural language of Argentines. That language leaves room for improvisation, and the trio excels at it.

The Pianola Museum in Amsterdam holds one of the world's largest collections of pianolas and mechanical pianos - over 130 instruments and tens of thousands of music rolls. Concerts are held regularly in the atmospheric canal-house setting, with the historic instruments actually played rather than just displayed. It paints a vivid picture of popular music culture around 1900.
