RESONATE with QUEEN

RESONATE with QUEEN is a music theatre production by Thomas Hijl and Giovanni Pileri, based on the work of Queen.

Thomas Hijl is a Dutch singer with an expressive, warm voice. His connection with Queen began at age 9 and was sealed when he attended the 'Magic Tour' concert in Leiden in 1986 - Freddie Mercury made a deep impression on him. At 16, he joined his first band, and in his twenties he worked as a Freddie impersonator. After a performance on 3FM, Giel Beelen called him 'The Dutch Freddie Mercury'. Then music gradually disappeared from his life, until he decided to rediscover his own artistic voice. That personal journey aligns seamlessly with the lyrics of Queen's masterpieces, and forms the thread running through the production.

Giovanni Pileri is a musician with Italian roots and a background in diverse genres. At 19, he made his national television debut playing with Mike and The Mechanics on TopPop. Since then he has performed across Europe and Asia with various bands and musicians. In this production, he ensures that each arrangement stays true to the original songs, enhanced by his own musical interpretation.
