The year is 1936. The British Empire holds Palestine firmly in its grip, and for Yusuf it means a life on the border between two worlds: his village and his work in Jerusalem, where Palestinian journalists struggle to document the facts under increasing censorship and repression.

His friend Khalid chooses a different path and joins the growing resistance, while others navigate between fear and hope. At the same time, Jewish refugees flee persecution in Europe. All these movements - anti-colonial uprising, flight, survival - converge on one decisive moment for the entire region, when clashing ideals inevitably collide.
