Description was written before the event

The world premiere of the World Press Photo Exhibition 2026 is on display from Friday, 24 April at De Nieuwe Kerk Amsterdam. The exhibition showcases the most striking photojournalism and documentary photography from the past year.

About the venue: De Nieuwe Kerk

De Nieuwe Kerk sits on Dam Square, right next to the Royal Palace, and is one of the most prominent Gothic churches in the Netherlands. Built in the 15th century, it has long since stopped serving as an active place of worship and now operates as an exhibition space. The venue hosts major cultural and historical exhibitions, and has been the setting for royal inaugurations.
