Ambient Night is part of November Music and brings contemporary and boundary-pushing acts together across multiple venues in 's-Hertogenbosch.

The programme features the American jazz quintet SML from Los Angeles, which combines jazz, post-rock and ambient music, and ambient pioneer Dorian Concept. Trumpeter Eric Vloeimans and organist Aart Bergwerff perform their own interpretation of Simeon ten Holts' 'Canto Ostinato', while Adrien Pallot offers meditative ambient explorations.

Pianist Matthijs van Wijhe plays Morton Feldman's 'Triadic Memories' and Ramses3000 presents a version of his album 'Thalamus'. Aart Strootman takes four hours for Steve Reich's 'Electric Counterpoint'. DJ duo Spiritual Embassy closes the evening in the café.

About: Dorian Concept

Born and raised in Vienna, Oliver Thomas Johnson built a musical language all his own, weaving jazz, funk and electronics into something that resists easy categorisation. His solo live show, centred on synthesizers and keyboards, is known for its improvisational energy and unpredictable turns.
