Gaudeamus Festival

The Gaudeamus Music Week is an international festival for contemporary music in Utrecht. The programme features symposia, sound installations and diverse concerts - sleep concerts, a concert with an electronic dress, The Night of the Unexpected and various concert routes.

The festival is also a meeting place for young composers from the Netherlands and abroad. Under the motto 'meet tomorrow's composers', they and the audience discover the latest generation of composers from around the world. Their work forms the core of the programme, complemented by pieces from renowned composers, performed by national and international ensembles.

The Gaudeamus Prize, a composition competition held during the festival, attracts many young composers to the Music Week.
