Nieuwe Nederlandse Naïviteit

Indie Playground and DE FLUX present Nieuwe Nederlandse Naïviteit on 17 October at De Kade in Zaandam. The programme features five acts and two spoken-word artists, with shows following each other at a rapid pace and leaving room for bizarre moments.

Nieuwe Nederlandse Naïviteit is a platform for contemporary Dutch-language underground: punk, gabberpunk, postpunk, shoegaze, avantgarde, stoner, indiepop and more. Outsider spoken-word artists and stage poets complete the picture. The two compilation albums on the Petrol Candy label received attention at home and abroad. The touring circuit started in October 2024 with an underground marathon at the Bovenkruier in Zaandam and subsequently visited venues in the Netherlands and Belgium. HARRY MULISCH (literary punk)
Idiosyncratic literary punk duo with music inspired by Ween, R. Stevie Moore and The Cardiacs. They combine alienating theatre with rock.

KINT (art rap)
Experimental sounds where surrealistic spoken texts merge with electronic beats.

JORIS ANNE (outsider pop)
Singer-songwriter and producer (1997) of Dutch-language songs with diverse influences: from folk with acoustic guitar to rave with 909 kicks and shredding synths. In his live shows, personal songs about life and love alternate with dancefloor bangers about drinking, weed and not giving a damn. Sometimes his parrot Hippie sings along.

TUPPERWR3 (postpunk)
Postpunk trio that mirrors the optimism of unbridled prosperity against the green of the murky Zaan. With jangly guitars, staccato bass lines and a raw, relentless rhythm straight out of the 1980s.

ALTER EVA (dream indie)
The band of frontwoman Eva Graaff combines dreampop with punk. Her Dutch-language lyrics are about losing yourself in a world too big, carried by grinding guitar play and driving drums.

STADSVOS (anarchist spoken word)
Stadsvos is the working name of Jacob Passander.
