BIXARIA: Queer Brazilian Club Night | EDITION: BIXA GRINGA | Mother Lucía | La Cigra$$ninha

BIXARIA is an Amsterdam-based queer Brazilian club night that creates space to dance freely - "shaking the raba" means dancing with your hips up and down as much as you want, however you like, in Brazilian street slang. For this edition - BIXA GRINGA - BIXARIA collaborates with sister collective VRAU from Berlin, as the closing event of World Pride Amsterdam's programme.

BIXARIA is a queer party rooted in communities of immigrants, BIPOC queers, artists and activists. It centres non-normative, dissident and politically engaged ways of moving and living. Genders and orientations are not assumed, and how someone looks is not a criterion. At the door you are welcomed by Mother Lucía and the Gender Awareness Team - read the door policy beforehand.

Musically, Brazilian Funk, Brega Funk, Techno Brega, Brazilian House, Dembow and experiments that cross all of these are central. Expect DJs, performances and MCs. Each edition has a theme, so dressing up is warmly welcomed.
