The Smithsonics

On 1 June 2024, The Smithsonics packed SoundVille; on Saturday 30 January 2027, they return to perform in the Oldegaarde. Those who missed the first show get a second chance. Those who were there then are welcome back too.

The band plays The Smiths as it should be: live, without gimmicks. Maurissey handles vocals, while Jacob, Rob and Bob take on the roles of Marr, Rourke and Joyce. The sound is defined by Marr's bright, ringing guitars, driving bass lines, and lyrics where romance, dark humour and self-pity constantly jostle for space.

The setlist combines well-known tracks - There Is a Light That Never Goes Out, How Soon Is Now?, This Charming Man, Bigmouth Strikes Again and Hand in Glove - with deeper cuts for devoted fans.
