Willemijn Verkaik brings the Broadway hit Next to Normal to Theater Hanzehof & Buitensociëteit in Zutphen on Sunday, 20 September 2026. This is one of five Dutch dates for the musical actress. She plays Diana, a woman with bipolar disorder whose family constantly navigates the boundary between reality and imagination. The theater, housed in a listed building in Zutphen's historic centre, serves as the city's main cultural venue. Tickets cost € 35.

The only actress ever to perform Elphaba in Wicked across three languages and four countries, Verkaik is also the Dutch and German voice of Elsa in Frozen. She returns to Dutch stages in autumn 2026, taking the lead in Next to Normal.
