Scorching summer days, barely a breath of air. A woman circles between window and kitchen table, day and night, searching for relief. The television on the table spews images; even by day, a star glimmers in the window.

Only the dog that appears at the door can coax a smile from her. An intrusive neighbour seeks contact - through the window, at the door, and eventually even at the table. What drives this woman, that star, that dog - and why is there suddenly a pool of blood on the kitchen floor?
