On the Radar: plonki + Badminton

On the Radar is Poppodium de Meester's concert series where two acts each carry the evening on their own terms - no support acts, no warm-ups. The Meester selects bands they expect to break through in the coming years. The second act is announced later, allowing the programming to respond to what's happening now.

plonki is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Pleun Stork. Drawing on influences from indie, psychedelia and alternative rock, she builds a layered sound with raw guitars, dreamy vocals and deep grooves. Her lyrics move between detachment and longing, between repeating emotional loops and moments of release - poetic and vulnerable, yet with an underlying tension that lingers.

Badminton

KNMI WARNING: hard band from the East rages with enormous force; code orange, at least! The four roughnecks of Badminton make music to stomp to and spill your beer on. With chaotic enthusiasm they tell stories about the whirlwind called 'adolescence'.
