Kika Sprangers Quintet
Wed, 2 Dec 2026 · 20:30 — 22:30
Saxophonist and composer Kika Sprangers moves from deep stillness to orchestral power - a palette that has secured her a leading position in Dutch jazz. In 2025 she won the Edison Jazz Nationaal for the album (In)finity; in 2024 she received a composition commission from the North Sea Jazz Festival. Beyond the stage, she is known for the VPRO/NPO podcast Hoezo Jazz?!
Her new album river, river (2026) is her most personal work. The river serves as a metaphor for the human life journey: how it develops, flows, meanders or rushes. The mostly wordless voice of Anna Serierse weaves through Kika's saxophone sound.
Kika Sprangers saxophone, Anna Serierse vocals, Koen Schalkwijk piano, William Barrett bass, Wouter Kühne drums
