Ludvig Søndergaard Sextet

Drummer Ludvig Søndergaard grew up in the quiet Danish countryside before moving to bustling, hectic cities. These contrasts form the foundation of his debut album Creature Dances, on which his sextet deliberately plays raw and sometimes even a bit rough. Dark passages alternate with lovely songs - because without ugliness there is no true beauty.

Søndergaard sees it as his mission to interpret the world and show it from a different perspective. He won The Keep an Eye Award 2025 for this, with the motivation: 'The music has a high sense of urgency, is genuine and energetic. The sound they create together is unique.'
