Sasha Berliner Quartet (US)
Sasha Berliner grew up as a rock drummer but fell in love with the vibraphone during a school jazz project. She studied with vibraphonist Stefon Harris and has since developed her own distinctive style, earning international recognition including the number one position in the Rising Star category for vibraphone in Downbeat magazine's Critics Poll. On stage, she has performed alongside Christian McBride, Cecile McLorin Salvant and Marcus Gilmore.
At Paradox, Berliner performs with her quartet music from her latest album Fantôme (2025). Jazzwise described it as 'a dark, almost mysterious experience that reinforces her distinctive sound: an ambitious yet accessible blend of layered patterns with an atmosphere that transforms from raw melancholy to fragile, haunting atmospheric textures'. All About Jazz added: '…Berliner plays, composes and leads her band with maturity and artistic presence rarely attained. […] Berliner is in the firmament of the here and now in modern jazz, and appears likely to occupy that upper stratosphere for some time to come.'
Berliner previously performed at the Transition festival.
