Immanuel Wilkins Quartet (US)
Alto saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins made an immediate impact with his 2020 Blue Note Records debut Omega. Since then, critical acclaim has piled up, and he consistently ranks at the top of DownBeat's annual polls.
Wilkins returns to Paradox with his regular quartet. His most recent achievement is a three-hour live recording from The Village Vanguard in New York. De Volkskrant wrote: "Wilkins and his quartet are in peak form. His endless solos never falter. One of the best, most rousing jazz bands of today." (★★★★★)
Jazzwise added earlier: "If Miles Davis had been a generation older and still a talent-spotting genius, he would very likely have hired Immanuel Wilkins before the alto saxophonist had even recorded his acclaimed Blue Note debut." (★★★★)
