Lucy Woodward & The Rocketeers

Lucy Woodward presents her new album "I Need To Roam" at De Fruitvis - a special concert created exclusively for this venue.

Woodward grew up in New York and the Netherlands in a family of classical musicians. Her music draws from a wide palette: opera, salsa, Middle Eastern music, soul, pop and jazz. She has collaborated with Snarky Puppy, Charlie Hunter, Tony Visconti, Larry Goldings and Pink Martini, and provided vocals and arrangements for Rod Stewart, Céline Dion, Chaka Khan, Barbra Streisand and Carole King. She also contributed to numerous major film soundtracks.

The project centers on Lucy's voice and original compositions, where energetic grooves meet honesty and elegance. Recently she worked with the New Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra for a series of live-recorded concerts in the Netherlands, featuring arrangements by Louk Boudesteijn and Roozenburg.
