Mothersfonk + FLiNK

Mothersfonk is an eight-piece Rotterdam funk and hip-hop ensemble featuring deep pocket grooves, tight breaks and virtuoso solos, inspired by the 'godfather of soul'. The band members have previously collaborated with artists including Joseph Bowie (Defunkt), Shirma Rouse, Fred Wesley, Jamal Thomas Band (drummer Maceo Parker), Focus, Living Blues Experience, Miko Weaver (Prince's guitarist), Nile Rodgers Tribute Band and Loïs Lane.

The evening's support act is FLiNK + RiDE & FLY. Trumpeter Arthur Flink is known from the Rotterdam (contemporary) jazz scene and his bands Monsieur Dubois and State Of Monc. FLiNK brings together Flink with funk duo Ride & Fly: drummer Rick van der Vlist and guitarist Mark Heusschen (both also active with Mothersfonk), plus guitarist Dave Davis, bassist Bobby Bax and keyboardist Maarten "MONSIEUR DUBOIS" Meddens. Raw grooves and razor-sharp solos, not background music.
