La Vita va Cosi (Evening)

A Milanese businessman with a vast real estate empire wants to build a luxury resort on the beach of a quiet Sardinian village. The unemployed residents are thrilled - except for one: Efisio, an elderly shepherd whose family has grazed their cattle on those same beaches for generations. He refuses to sell his house and land.

Negotiations drag on. Despite desperate pleas from the villagers and ever-increasing sums of money, Efisio stands firm year after year. The developers resort to underhanded tactics to force the sale, while his daughter Francesca gradually begins to understand his stubbornness.
