The official Semester Opening Party takes place on Friday, 18 September from 22:00 to 04:00 at IJland Amsterdam. The event attracts 1500 students and is open to everyone aged 18 and over - an ESN or student card is not required.

There are three areas: the Main Stage with R&B, disco, house and classics, a Second Stage with Latin and reggaeton, and a Lounge with karaoke. The programme features more than 10 artists.
