Secret Cinema - 5h vinyl set

Backbone is a series of all-nighters at Café Bosch where each evening one DJ plays a continuous story from start to finish - on vinyl, digitally, or both. The focus is on the pioneers and forgotten heroes who laid the foundation from the nineties onwards for what we now take for granted, and on emerging talents who know where the craft comes from. A new guest each month, Saturdays from 20:00 to 01:00.

Backbone Exclusive #1 features Secret Cinema, the alter ego of Jeroen Verheij from Rotterdam. He has been DJing for over thirty years. "Timeless Altitude" is his best-known track as Secret Cinema, but under other names he also scored major hits: as Grooveyard, "Mary Go Wild" charted in 1996, and in 2000 "Let the Music Be My Guide" got everyone moving again. At heart, Jeroen is a techno producer and DJ - though techno and house regularly blend in his sets.

For this evening he plays a 5-hour vinyl set. Every record is etched in his memory; selecting, cleaning, and physically working with the material are an inseparable part of it.
