Yael van der Wouden is a Dutch author whose debut novel The Safekeep (2024) was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. Set in the Netherlands in the 1960s, the book deals with memory, possession and the aftermath of the Second World War. She also writes essays and literary criticism.
