Wounded (formerly The Wounded) are a gothic rock and doom metal band from Emmen in the Dutch province of Drenthe, active since 1998. Across seven albums - from their debut 'The Art of Grief' (2000) to the 2023 twin releases 'The Sky Is Yours' and 'The Sky Is Ours' - they have shared stages with Within Temptation, Paradise Lost and HIM. Following the death of drummer Alwin Schnoing during recording sessions in 2023, the band regrouped under the shortened name Wounded and continues with a four-piece lineup led by vocalist and guitarist Marco van der Velde.
The Vera concert of Wounded in Groningen, originally scheduled for 6 June 2026, was postponed to 17 October 2026 due to health reasons.
Wounded was confirmed as one of the acts at Metalyard Open Air 2026, on 5 September in Emmer-Compascuum.
The international doom platform Doomed Nation published an extensive profile of the band, with attention to their two albums from 2023 and the current lineup.
The band presented the two albums 'The Sky Is Yours' and 'The Sky Is Ours' live at Vera, Groningen - the first performance with the renewed lineup.
Following the death of drummer Alwin Schnoing, the band decided to shorten the name from The Wounded to Wounded and released the full album 'The Sky Is Ours' in November 2023.
