Wishbone Ash are a British rock band formed in Torquay in 1969, best known for pioneering the twin lead-guitar format that would go on to influence Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. Their 1972 album Argus reached number 3 in the UK charts and remains their defining work. Founding guitarist Andy Powell continues to lead the band, which has released over 25 studio albums across more than five decades of continuous touring.
