About

Wishamalii is a trio formed by Palestinian-Jordanian singer and oud player Nemat Battah, Finnish pianist Kari Ikonen, and Ethiopian percussionist Abdissa Assefa. The group weaves Arabic muwashshah songs into a Nordic jazz atmosphere, and in 2024 released their debut album Al-Bahr, which received several award nominations in Germany.
