Wim Kieft (Amsterdam, 1962) is a former Dutch professional footballer who made his name as a clinical striker at Ajax, Pisa, Torino and PSV. At nineteen he became the youngest European top scorer ever, winning the Golden Boot with 32 Eredivisie goals; he went on to win the European Cup I with PSV in 1988 and that same year scored the decisive header for the Netherlands in the Euro 1988 semi-final against Ireland. After retiring he built a second career as a football analyst, De Telegraaf columnist and podcast host, and in his autobiographies *Kieft* (2014) and *De terugkeer* (2018) he spoke candidly about his battle with addiction.
Kieft announced that he will soon receive an artificial hip, after he already received an artificial knee in the summer of 2025 and subsequently developed an infection.
Kieft returned to Ziggo Sport as co-commentator for Serie A matches and as an analyst in the program Rondo.
Kieft responded in the podcast KieftJansenEgmondGijp to criticism from viewers about his breathing as co-commentator at Ziggo Sport.
In his weekly column in De Telegraaf, Kieft analyzed the striker options of national coach Ronald Koeman for the 2026 World Cup.
Kieft was admitted to a care center after complications from surgery on his artificial knee.
