Turin Brakes are a British indie rock band from Balham, London, founded in 1999 by childhood friends Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian. Their Mercury Prize-nominated debut 'The Optimist LP' (2001) and follow-up 'Ether Song' (2003) - which yielded the UK top 5 hit 'Pain Killer (Summer Rain)' - made them one of the defining acts of the early-2000s New Acoustic Movement. Ten studio albums and over a million record sales later, they remain an active touring and recording band.

The tenth studio album 'Spacehopper' was released on 23 May 2025 via Cooking Vinyl, recorded at the London Konk Studios with producer Guy Massey.

The opening track 'The Message' - originally written for 'Wide-Eyed Nowhere' - was released in April 2025 as the first single from 'Spacehopper'.

The acoustic tour, which began in autumn 2024, was continued in spring 2025 with John Bramwell (I Am Kloot) as special guest.

During an acoustic concert at the Union Chapel in London, the band confirmed that the tenth album was ready, recorded at Konk Studios.

In July 2024, the band began recording the new album while simultaneously preparing an almost sold-out acoustic tour.
