Tom Cruise (born July 3, 1962, in Syracuse, New York) is an American actor and film producer with a career spanning more than four decades. He rose to global fame through blockbusters including the Mission: Impossible franchise and Top Gun: Maverick - his highest-grossing film ever, with over $1.5 billion at the worldwide box office. Cruise is known for performing the majority of his own dangerous stunts. In November 2025 he received an honorary Oscar recognising his body of work and his advocacy for the theatrical experience.
