Thijs van Leer (Amsterdam, 1948) is a Dutch multi-instrumentalist and the founder of progressive rock band Focus. As keyboardist, flautist and vocalist he is the creative force behind classics such as 'Moving Waves' (1971) and the iconic 'Hocus Pocus', famous for its yodelling. In 2008 he became the first musician in the Netherlands to be knighted in the Order of Orange-Nassau. Focus released their twelfth studio album in 2024 and continue to tour extensively across Europe and North America.
