360 Degrees: Theo Parrish x Shy One
Two electronic music pioneers, Theo Parrish and Shy One, deliver a night of deep grooves and experimental sound at Jazzpodium BIRD.
Theo Parrish (born 1972, Washington D.C.) is an American DJ, producer and founder of the Detroit-based Sound Signature label. Raised in Chicago on a diet of Miles Davis and Nina Simone, he studied sound sculpture at the Kansas City Art Institute before becoming a pivotal figure in Detroit's underground from the mid-1990s onwards. His marathon DJ sets - spanning deep house, jazz, funk and raw electronics - have made him one of the most uncompromising voices in global club culture.
Resident Advisor chose Theo Parrish as the first artist for the milestone podcast RA.1000, recorded during an eight-hour performance at Fabric, London (December 2024).
Parrish performed live at Barbican Hall in London, together with Dego & 2000Black, as part of Touching Bass's TB10 anniversary program.
Juno Daily reported on the announcement of Parrish and Dego's joint Barbican concert, with Parrish bringing his 'sound sculpture' approach to the stage with three Sound Signature vocalists.
Parrish was on the lineup of Paradise City Festival in Belgium (26-28 June 2026) for a four-hour afternoon set.
Parrish played a twelve-hour marathon set for Resolute at Industry City, New York.
