Saxophonist Tineke Postma presents her album VOYA with an international ensemble featuring Grammy-nominated vocalist Theo Bleckmann.
Theo Bleckmann (Dortmund, 1966) is a German vocalist and composer who has lived in New York since 1989. He has built a reputation as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary jazz and new music, moving fluidly between vocal jazz, avant-garde and chamber music. Bleckmann records for ECM and has received multiple Grammy nominations, as well as Germany's Echo Jazz Award for his album I Dwell in Possibility (2010). For over fifteen years he was a core ensemble member with Meredith Monk, and has collaborated with Philip Glass, Laurie Anderson, John Zorn and the Bang on a Can All-Stars, among others.
Bleckmann released the chamber opera album 'David Lang: note to a friend' in February 2026 on Cantaloupe Music, together with the Attacca Quartet.
In February 2026, Bleckmann toured 'note to a friend' through Yale, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
In October 2025, his solo album 'Love and Anger' was released on Sunnyside Records, produced by drummer Ulysses Owens Jr.
Bleckmann was heard as a guest soloist on 'Voya' (2025), the new album by Dutch saxophonist Tineke Postma.
In December 2025, Bleckmann gave a Christmas concert with friends at The Jazz Gallery in New York.
