TheKoosy is the stage name of Dutch DJ and producer Erik Jan van Zanten, born in 1976. He learned his craft in the late eighties and early nineties, performing on vinyl under the alias DJ EJ Ugel before adopting the TheKoosy name in the late nineties. His sound centres on techno rooted in acid and early rave - raw, high-energy and deliberately gritty. He is a regular on the Dutch underground circuit and serves as resident DJ for Amsterdam's KRAFT event series.
TheKoosy released the track 'Ben Dust's Roofies' on 13 December 2024, a collaboration with Marc Acardipane and Ben Dust on his own Van Zanten Records.
TheKoosy closed the KRAFT v9 evening as resident on 7 February 2026 in the boiler room of the former Amsterdam prison.
TheKoosy was on the line-up of Wooferland in Halfweg on 7 September 2025.
