The Vintage Caravan are an Icelandic hard rock trio from Álftanes, founded in 2006 by guitarist/vocalist Óskar Logi Ágústsson and drummer Guðjón Reynisson, with bassist Alexander Örn Númason joining shortly after. Their blend of classic rock, blues and psychedelia has taken them to major festivals including Wacken Open Air and Hellfest, as well as support slots for Opeth. Their sixth studio album Portals, released in September 2025 on Napalm Records, features a guest appearance by Opeth's Mikael Åkerfeldt, while predecessor Monuments reached #21 on the German album charts.
The band released a music video for 'Days Go By' and announced that their autumn 2026 tour will likely be their last for an extended period.
Portals, the sixth studio album by The Vintage Caravan, was released on 26 September 2025 via Napalm Records, featuring a guest contribution from Mikael Åkerfeldt on the opening track 'Philosopher'.
The band embarked on an extensive headlining tour through Europe and the United Kingdom to promote Portals, with shows in places including Leeuwarden and Tilburg.
The single 'Riot' was released as the first preview of Portals, accompanied by an official music video.
Portals was recorded in Porto, Portugal, at the studio Arda Recorders - for the first time entirely on tape.
