The Tallest Man on Earth: Just Beyond Endless Mountain
Swedish folk musician The Tallest Man on Earth brings his new album Just Beyond Endless Mountain to De Oosterpoort.
The Tallest Man on Earth is the solo project of Swedish singer-songwriter Kristian Matsson, originally from Vålarna. Armed with a raw, distinctive voice and an acoustic guitar, he has built a devoted following in the folk world over nearly two decades. His albums - from the celebrated The Wild Hunt to the band-recorded Henry St. (2023, Anti- Records) - are praised for their poetic lyrics and intimate feel. He has also collaborated with orchestras including Amsterdam Sinfonietta and the Gävle Symphony Orchestra.
Matsson released the single 'Colors' on May 27, 2026 - his first new song in more than three years - and at the same time announced a North American tour of 24 shows for autumn 2026.
'Colors' was recorded by Matsson in his own studio, where he combined violin, guitar and his distinctive voice.
In 2025, Matsson collaborated as a guest artist on a single by Swedish singer-songwriter Moonica Mac.
Due to the success of previous concerts, Matsson collaborated again in 2025 with the Gävle Symphony Orchestra in Sweden and with a chamber ensemble in North America.
In 2024, Matsson performed with the Amsterdam Sinfonietta, combining Swedish folk material, classical Scandinavian repertoire and his own work; special guest was the New York string quartet Brooklyn Rider.
