The Strokes are a New York rock band formed in 1998, whose debut album Is This It (2001) made them one of the defining acts of the early-2000s indie and garage rock revival. Their taut, guitar-driven sound and effortlessly cool image earned them a global following. The New Abnormal (2020), produced by Rick Rubin, won the Grammy for Best Rock Album in 2021, and the band returned in 2026 with their seventh studio album Reality Awaits, again with Rubin at the helm.
