The Skids are a Scottish punk and new wave band from Dunfermline, formed in 1977 by Stuart Adamson and Richard Jobson. Late-seventies hits like 'Into the Valley' (1979) made them a fixture of the UK punk scene, and the song remains a terrace anthem for Dunfermline Athletic and Charlton Athletic to this day. After disbanding in 1982 - Adamson went on to found Big Country before his death in 2001 - frontman Jobson revived the band in 2016, releasing several new albums and touring regularly since.
The Skids staan gepland voor een optreden in P60 in Amstelveen, als onderdeel van hun lopende Europese tournee.
De band kondigt een UK-tournee aan in november 2026 samen met Theatre Of Hate, met shows in onder meer Newcastle, Sheffield, Nottingham en Edinburgh.
The Skids en Spear of Destiny kondigden een gezamenlijke UK-tournee aan in het najaar van 2024, waarbij de band de 45ste verjaardag van 'Days in Europa' vierde.
The Skids brachten via Cleopatra Records meerdere digitale coversingles uit, waaronder 'Breathe', 'Wild Horses' en 'I'm On Fire'.
Het album 'Destination Düsseldorf' verscheen op 30 juni 2023 via het label Last Night From Glasgow op cd, lp en digitaal.
