The Halo Effect is a Swedish melodic death metal band formed in 2019 by five former members of In Flames: guitarists Jesper Strömblad and Niclas Engelin, bassist Peter Iwers, drummer Daniel Svensson, and vocalist Mikael Stanne. Their debut album 'Days of the Lost' (2022) topped the Swedish charts - reportedly the first time a debut metal album had ever done so - and charted strongly across Europe. The band followed up with their second album 'March of the Unheard' in January 2025, a covers EP 'We Are Shadows' in November 2025, and the collaborative single 'Lest We Fall' in February 2026.
The Halo Effect released the single 'Lest We Fall', a collaboration with Heaven Shall Burn and The Black Dahlia Murder.
The band announced a European headliner tour for February-March 2027, with Lacuna Coil and Omnium Gatherum as guests.
The covers EP 'We Are Shadows' was released on 21 November 2025, with five tracks including covers of W.A.S.P., Danzig and Swedish Kent.
The second studio album 'March of the Unheard' was released via Nuclear Blast.
The band announced 'March of the Unheard' with the first single 'Detonate', for which an official music video was also released.
