The Four Seasons

The Four Seasons is a set of four violin concertos composed by Antonio Vivaldi around 1720. One of the most recognizable works in all of classical music, it paints each season in vivid musical detail - birdsong in spring, a summer thunderstorm, a harvest dance in autumn, and biting winter cold. Each concerto is paired with a sonnet describing the scene.
