Tarja Turunen is a Finnish soprano and rock vocalist who rose to international fame as a founding member of Nightwish. After leaving the band in 2005 she built a successful solo career in symphonic metal, with albums such as 'My Winter Storm' and 'In the Raw'. Her operatic voice set against heavy guitars remains her signature. In June 2026 she released 'Frisson Noir', her tenth studio album and, by her own account, the heaviest record of her career.
On 12 June 2026, Tarja released her tenth studio album 'Frisson Noir' via earMUSIC, in collaboration with, among others, Dani Filth, Apocalyptica, Marko Hietala and Chad Smith.
To promote 'Frisson Noir', Tarja announces the international Frisson Live Tour 2026, which starts on 30 September 2026 in Berlin.
The single 'I Don't Care' featuring Cradle of Filth singer Dani Filth was released on 22 April 2026 as the second preview of 'Frisson Noir'.
With 'At Sea', the first single from the new album was released on 18 March 2026, followed by the announcement of the album release.
In January and February 2026, Tarja toured Spain together with former Nightwish bassist Marko Hietala under the name Living The Dream Together Tour.
