Tangarine is the folk-pop duo formed by identical twin brothers Sander and Arnout Brinks, born in 1983 in Lelystad and raised in Assen. They have been writing songs together since the age of twelve, drawing early inspiration from Simon & Garfunkel and Bob Dylan. A national breakthrough came in 2013-2014 when they served as house band on the top-rated Dutch talk show De Wereld Draait Door; they have since played festivals including Lowlands and toured theaters across the Netherlands. Their 2026 album Family Tradition features guest appearances by Venice, The Alessi Brothers and the Van Dijck Sisters.
Tangarine released the album Family Tradition, the successor to Blank Cassette (2023), with guest contributions from Venice, The Alessi Brothers, the Van Dijck Sisters and ZO! Gospel Choir.
After the theater tour, the brothers released the single Every Rainbow, a tribute to their twin brothers Johnny and Jeffrey, who died shortly after birth.
The theater tour Running in the Family II included eighty concerts throughout the Netherlands and attracted over 30,000 visitors.
Tangarine was featured for eight weeks in the television program Beste Zangers, which significantly increased their recognition with a broad audience.
The album Blank Cassette received a Japanese release in 2024 via P-Vine Records, through which Tangarine also gained attention outside the Netherlands.
