SUD SOUND SYSTEM -35th anniversary-
SUD SOUND SYSTEM marks their 35th anniversary with a concert at Toekomstmuziek in Amsterdam. The Italian reggae and dub collective takes to the stage for this milestone show.
Sud Sound System is an Italian reggae and dancehall group from Lecce, in the heel of the Italian boot. Since the early 1990s they have blended reggae with Salentine folk music, singing in Griko - an ancient Greek dialect still spoken in southern Apulia. Pioneers of Italian raggamuffin, they have carried the Salentine dialect onto stages from Jamaica to northern Europe.
Sud Sound System receives a Career Award on November 7, 2026 at the Alcatraz in Milan, during the twentieth edition of La Notte di San Martino.
On July 17, 2026, they released the new single 'Salento Sound', produced together with Salentinian producer Kybba and Dutch artist Kalibwoy.
The band celebrated their 35-year anniversary with a large open-air concert at Raffo Parco Gondar in Gallipoli, which attracted more than five thousand visitors.
For their anniversary year, they plan more than fifty concerts in Italy and abroad, supplemented with an anniversary compilation that will be released in October 2026.
In March 2025, they performed in the United Kingdom, with performances in London (Oslo) and Manchester (Manchester Academy 3).
