Steebs Method (GRN) + support
Groningen's Steebs Method blends jazz harmonies with boom-bap hip-hop and philosophical lyrics. Fronted by STEEBY, the band performs intricate compositions and virtuosic solos.
Steebs Method is a jazz-rap band from Groningen, formed by rapper STEEBY (Jesse Kortenschijl) and hip-hop band The Method. Their six-piece lineup - vocals, saxophone, guitar, bass, keys and drums - anchors boom-bap beats in rich jazz harmony, with Steeby's philosophical, narrative lyrics running through it all. The project grew out of the earlier Steeby & the Better Days and operates fully independently. They played Eurosonic/Noorderslag in 2023 and 2024, and returned to ESNS in January 2026 as part of the Grunnsonic programme.
Steebs Method performed at ESNS 2026 in Groningen, both in the Grunnsonic program and at Platosonic in the Prins Claus Conservatorium on January 16.
The official music video for 'Mias Tune' was released in April 2025, directed by Lija Markūnaitė and Jawid Rahimi.
The singles 'THIS SLAPS' and 'Kleine Flex' were released in 2025 as new releases from the band.
Steebs Method performed at the annual 3voor12 event 'Best of Groningen's Soil 2024' at VERA Groningen.
The band released their first EP 'Check the Method' and celebrated the release with a show at Simplon Groningen.
