Come As You Are
Come As You Are 2026 is a new festival edition from the Effenaar featuring Shame, Republica, JOHAN and Bleech 9:3.
Shame are a five-piece post-punk band from South London, formed in 2014 by schoolmates Charlie Steen (vocals), Eddie Green and Sean Coyle-Smith (guitars), Josh Finerty (bass), and Charlie Forbes (drums). Rooted in the Brixton Windmill scene, they built their name on ferocious live shows and sharp, socially aware songwriting. Their debut 'Songs of Praise' (2018) earned widespread critical praise, and 'Drunk Tank Pink' (2021) debuted at number eight on the UK Albums Chart. Their fourth album 'Cutthroat', produced by Grammy-winning John Congleton, followed in September 2025.
Shame released their fourth studio album 'Cutthroat' on September 5, 2025 via Dead Oceans, produced by Grammy-winning John Congleton.
The band announced 'Cutthroat' with the eponymous title single, followed by 'Quiet Life' (July) and 'Spartak' (August) as further previews of the album.
Shame plays on October 2, 2025 at Melkweg in Amsterdam and on October 3 at Doornroosje in Nijmegen as part of an extensive European tour.
The band toured Australia in February and March 2025, both as support for Fontaines D.C. and with their own headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne.
