Scott 'Wino' Weinrich (Rockville, Maryland, 1960) is an American guitarist and vocalist whose work across more than four decades has shaped the sound of doom metal. He rose to prominence fronting Saint Vitus in the 1980s - most notably on Born Too Late (1986) - before going on to lead The Obsessed, Spirit Caravan and a string of other projects. His baritone voice and slow, crushing riffs remain a defining reference point for the genre worldwide.
Wino released his fourth solo album Create or Die via Ripple Music, a mix of hard rock and folk that goes beyond his acoustic predecessor Forever Gone (2020).
To celebrate the release of Create or Die, Wino toured through Europe to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of The Church Within (1995).
The documentary Wino: The Documentary (2023) was made available on the European metal streaming platform The Pit.
The Obsessed released the studio album Gilded Sorrow, which was widely praised in the international metal media.
The long-awaited documentary Wino: The Documentary appeared digitally and on DVD via New Terms Productions.
