Retromigration is the alias of Malik Kassim, a DJ and producer born in Heidelberg with Nigerian and Ghanaian roots, now based in Amsterdam. His music draws on early house, jazz, soul, hip-hop and broken beat - a range of influences he absorbed from childhood through his parents and a local music school. He has released on Wolf Music, Rhythm Section, Handy Records and Healthy Scratch, and has played at Glastonbury, Fabric, Dekmantel and Lowlands. His debut album 'Straight Foxin'' came out in May 2023 on Wolf Music and earned support from BBC Radio 1, NTS Radio, Mixmag and DJ Mag.
Retromigration released 'Choices EP Vol.1' on Wolf Music, his first release on the label following the 'Ausfahrt 9 EP' and a remix on the compilation 'Dream House Factory Vol.1'.
The single 'No Way' appeared in December 2025 on Bandcamp.
The 'Half Fried' EP appeared in October 2025 on the label Semi Delicious.
The 'Ausfahrt 9 EP' was released in September 2025, preceding his return to Wolf Music.
Debut album 'Straight Foxin'' appeared on 19 May 2023 on Wolf Music, a double-vinyl LP with fourteen tracks ranging from deep house and broken beat to footwork and jungle.
