Raymond van het Groenewoud (born 14 February 1950 in Schaerbeek) is a Belgian singer-songwriter of Dutch descent who has been a fixture of Flemish pop music for over fifty years. He broke through in 1977 with 'Meisjes' and in 1991 reached number one in both Belgium and the Netherlands with 'Liefde voor muziek'. Across more than fifteen studio albums he has combined rock and roll with poetic Dutch-language lyrics, earning him the title 'His Excellence of Belgian Pop'.
After a sabbatical year in Spain, Raymond van het Groenewoud announces his theatre tour 'Archivaris' for spring 2026, with four shows in Antwerp, Hasselt, Bruges and Ghent.
The show at Concertgebouw Bruges on 27 May 2026 sells out - a first for Van het Groenewoud in his own hometown.
Raymond van het Groenewoud records a new version of 'Liefde voor muziek' together with the a-cappella group Impact for Radio 2.
Van het Groenewoud wins the Muze, the career award of copyright association Sabam.
He receives the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Music Industry Awards (MIA's).
