Rage is a German heavy metal band founded in Herne in 1984 by vocalist and bassist Peter "Peavy" Wagner. Counted among the "big four" of the German heavy/speed/power metal scene alongside Grave Digger, Helloween and Running Wild, the band has released 28 studio albums and sold over five million records worldwide. Wagner is the sole constant member; the current lineup also features guitarist Jean Bormann and drummer Vassilios "Lucky" Maniatopoulos.
Rage released their 28th studio album *A New World Rising* on September 26, 2025 via Steamhammer, a rawer and thrashier sound without orchestral arrangements.
The 'A New World Rising Tour 2026' brought Rage to multiple European cities, with Mission In Black as special guest on all dates.
Peavy Wagner published his first autobiography on December 6, 2024, titled *Soundchaser: Lebenslänglich Heavy Metal. Mein Leben mit Rage*.
On the occasion of the 40th anniversary, Rage released the double album *Afterlifelines* in 2024, which combines classic heavy metal with orchestral arrangements.
