Pieter Wispelwey is a Dutch cellist who has built an international reputation through his recordings and performances of Bach, Britten and the broader cello repertoire. He has recorded Bach's cello suites more than once, each time bringing a fresh and rhythmically charged approach. His playing spans the Baroque to the twentieth century with equal conviction.
