Paulette Verlée is the stage name of Brussels-born composer and pianist Veerle Pollet, a graduate of the Lemmens Institute in Leuven, where she earned her master's degree with highest distinction. Her work sits at the crossroads of neoclassical composition, electronics, and film music, drawing on Satie, Couperin, and the Romantic tradition of Schumann and Brahms. Her 2024 album *En Attendant* - whose ten track titles together form a quote from Beckett's *Waiting for Godot* - is her most ambitious release to date. On stage she is joined by cellist Maaike Organe, with live electronics and real-time projections.
Paulette Verlée achieved second place in 2026 in the World Piano Day International Composition Competition, with a jury led by Dirk Brossé.
In 2026 she released several new singles, including 'Tiens', 'Castles In The Air (Electronic)' and 'Untitled Film Still (dedicated to Cindy Sherman)'.
On 26 April 2026 Paulette Verlée performed at CC De Plomblom in Ninove, with a brunch concert largely based on the album *En Attendant*.
She won the Film Sync Awards in 2025 and is registered as a screen composer with VRT and internationally represented by sync agency Music Alternatives.
The album *En Attendant* was released on 8 November 2024 on vinyl, CD and digitally via V2 Records; the ten track titles together form a quote from Beckett's *Waiting for Godot*.
