Oorkaan is an Amsterdam-based company that creates theatrical concerts with professional musicians for young audiences. Founded in 2001 in the small hall of the Royal Concertgebouw, it works according to its own Oorkaan Method - all performers are musicians, the performance style is physical, and music is always at the centre. The company gives around 200 performances a year in the Netherlands and abroad, and is internationally recognised as a leader in the field of music for young audiences.
Oorkaan celebrates its 25th anniversary (and the Oorkaan Ensemble its 5th anniversary) with the new outdoor production De laatste kroon, which premiered in August 2026 during the KinderKaravaan of Theater Orpheus in and around Apeldoorn.

Zoemmm, a co-production of Oorkaan with Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and Theater Orpheus, was shown in November 2025 at the Muziekgebouw Amsterdam.
